Getting Started

Before uploading any items or assemblies from your CAD, please do the following, otherwise they will not upload:

1. Define whether orphaned child items are deleted or added to the root/top assembly in Settings → General → Import BOM Configurations
2. A new BOM template will need to be created as a means for BOMs to be uploaded from Solidworks or Inventor. Go to Templates → BOM Templates → Create New Bom Template. Under Template Type, select 'External Source Template' and either pick Solidworks or AD Inventor.
3. Proceed to do the same for an Item Template under Templates → Item Templates → Create New Item Template.
