General:
Under general settings, the amount of items or BOMs shown on their respective pages can be adjusted to up to 100 which will be displayed in either grid or list form.
The Diagram Expansion Level will display children to a degree of n for n expansion level upon loading or reloading a BOM.
General settings allow the default template to be defined for each source system. This is on a user-by-user basis and includes Web Application-specific templates, so organizations can work with different templates.
Core data:
The core data page allows for additional information and options to be added to fields that can be tailored to the organization's conventions. These can include item groups, BOM type, and BOM status.
Templates:
BOM Templates:
The BOM template selected as the default in general settings is the template MaXXlink will upload BOMs under. For an external source template, the source being used will need to be distinguished.
In addition to the default values, custom fields can be added for the BOM Header and BOM Line. Line and header values can also be configured in the same manner. Input types include text, checkbox, date, and File Locations, while placeholder is used to describe the value. Label name is the name of the field seen on the interface and it can be set to be required (which will be reflected by a red asterisk in the BOM editor). Length range must be defined as well.
Item Templates:
Similarly to BOM templates, the item template that is selected in general settings will be the default template used by MaXXlink.
Custom fields can be created that have the same configuration as fields for BOMs.
External Properties:
The 'Sync Custom Fields' feature can be used to bring an external/custom property from a bill of materials onto MaXXlink. To bring in external/custom properties from a bill of materials, the property can be found in the 'external properties' portion of the templates setting where its source will need to be selected above. In doing this, it should then be visible under the external properties tab where it can be moved to selected external properties.
Cut-list Properties:
MaXXlink's Solidworks add-in has the capability to synchronize custom properties as well. This will parse through the cut list properties of each part that has cut list items in an assembly whereby they can be added to in templates and populated within BOMs. Cut-list properties are discerned via the 'Property Type' parameter in field creation.
Cut-list Properties are discerned on the BOM line via the grey circle that has a hover tooltip saying 'Cut-List Property' and by the italic font of the row contents.
Notifications:
Notifications can be customized to alert users of adjustments have been made to items or BOMs.
When these events are triggered, they will be pushed to the notifications section that can be seen by the entire organization. This can be accessed through the bell icon in the top right. Email notifications can be allowed as well that will automatically send each notification to your MaXXlink email.
Privilege Matrix:
The privilege matrix is a tool for administrators to delegate what their users can view, create, edit, and delete. The administrator will never lose access to their privilege matrix privileges, nor their ability to view and create items or view core data. The default roles are Administrator, Reader, and Contributor.
